Hopping Around with African Dwarf Frogs

African Dwarf FrogsRibbit ribbit! Frogs might seem like an odd thing to consider as a first pet, but trust me, it’s hard to resist these cute little guys. African Dwarf frogs are available at Learning Express in self sustaining miniature ecosystems with everything you need! Each tank comes with living gravel, colored gravel and a piece of bamboo, so it’s a miniature ecosystem that is practically self sustaining. All you need to do is feed them twice a week and clean the tank every 2-4 months with room temperature spring water. Wanna know more? Check it out:

  • Each tank contains two male African Dwarf frogs.
  • The frogs have an average life expectancy of 2-4 years.
  • Accessories are available, including extra food packs and bases for each type of tank.

My dtr wants to move our frogs into a big aquarium. Is that possible? I thought it would upset the Ecosystem. Our frogs are tiny- how big will they grow?

The frogs tend to stay the size they are. We aren’t sure of age when we get them but we have seen many grow a little bit bigger than when they leave the store. You can definitely change the tank if needed. They can also live with other fish. To start the new aquarium you will want to visit your local pet store and purchase a bag of live aquatic sand, ($10 Max), be sure to grab a few extra pieces of aquatic plants (bamboo or aquatic grass is what we use). Begin with rinsing the tank out, place the live dirt on the bottom of the tank, then place the gravel of your choice. When finished with that step place a lid on the bottom of the gravel and begin to poor the water slowly. Let the water sit for 24hrs with the lid then place the frogs in. If anything happens to the frogs within 30 days of their purchase we can replace the frog(s). If you have any questions or concerns please give myself or Crystal a call at the Falls Pointe location.

      Have a great day,
      Rhianna

I’m so sorry for yoru poor experience with the African Dwarf Frogs. Unfortunately there have been inconsistencies with the bacteria levels of their spring water in the shipments. We have extra frogs in the store this week. You are welcome to stop by at any time and pick up another one.

      Thank you,
      Angela

      Hi Ellie!

Our African Dwarf Frogs cost $34.99. This cost includes 2 frogs, small ecosystem (tank, gravel, bamboo) and enough food for one year.

Thanks and have a great day!

Hi Peyton, thank you for asking! Unfortunately we no longer sell the African dwarf frogs. If you are looking for frog food, we recommend contacting your local pet food supplier. Thanks!

Does Learning Express still sell African dwarf frogs?
